Cheryl Cole married Ashley in 2006
Ashley Cole's dad Ron Callender is still hopeful that his son will reunite with ex-wife Cheryl Cole.
The couple divorced in September after 4 years of marriage because Ashley, 30, was unfaithful - but Ron believes the Chelsea and England footballer has learnt his lesson.�
'They weren't too young when they got married - they knew what they were doing - but Ashley at times behaved badly so you can't blame Cheryl for wanting to end it,'� he says.
Since the break up Cheryl, 27, has grown close to dancer Derek Hough and Ashley has reportedly enjoyed a few brief flings - including a romance with Playboy Bunny Kayla Collins.�
But Cheryl still has very deep feelings for her ex and told Piers Morganthat he didn't want the marriage to end.
'There's no way Ashley would make the same mistakes again - there's no doubt about that,' Ron, 53, tells the Daily Express.
'It would be fantastic for them and for everyone who cares about them if they got back together.
'I'm sure they still love each other.'
