'Glee' star Matthew Morrison announces summer tour

Apr 01, 2011

Kicking off on June 18 in Minneapolis, Matthew Morrison's tour will hit 20 cities before wrapping up in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre on July 23.

And here are some twists the Glee star is adding to the tour: To help recognize great glee clubs across the country, the tour, in conjunction with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, will offer regional glee clubs the chance to compete for the "opening act" performance slot. Starting April 8, clubs can apply on Morrison's website.

The Glee teacher has also teamed up with Funny Or Die to create original content for the tour. The videos will premiere on Funny Or Die, and Funny Or Die is also producing original content that will be incorporated into the live show.

Morrison recently premiered his debut single, Summer Rain, on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show and he is slated to perform it on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 6, as well as on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 11.
