Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole's relationship is strained

Simon Cowell reckons Cheryl Cole's future is still bright - with or without his support.

The X Factor boss's relationship with the Geordie singer is said to be at an all-time low after she was dumped from the US version of his talent show last week.

But Louis Walsh has revealed that Cheryl, 27, intends to get back to work with Girls Aloud and Simon predicts: 'More hits.'

Last night Simon, 51 - who's returned to the UK to take his place on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel - joked about replacing hosts Ant and Dec.

'That's showbusiness,' he quipped.

'He's got it right in for the Geordies this week,' Dec, 35, replied.

Simon retorted: 'I'm in so much trouble tomorrow.'�
