BAFTA TV Awards 2011 - all the pictures

And Vicky McClure wins Best Actress

Comic Daniel Rigby was the shock winner of the Best Actor prize at last night's BAFTA TV Awards in London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Daniel, who won the award for his role in Morecambe And Wise drama Eric And Ernie, beat off competition from Doctor Who's Matt Smith, Any Human Heart actor Jim Broadbent and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch.

'Flippin' heck, I'm absolutely gobsmacked,' he declared.

'They are brilliant and famous, which is more than can be said for me.'

Winner of the Best Actress gong was Vicky McClure, who we know best as troubled tomboy Frances 'Lol' Jenkins in This Is England '86.

But last night Vicky was transformed in a chic red dress and left contenders Juliet Stevenson, Natalie Press and Anna Maxwell-Martin in the shadows.

'This is the best day of my life!' Vicky told the celebrity audience.

The big shock of the night came when The Cube beat Simon Cowell's X Factor to the Entertainment Programme prize.
