SJP plays coy about more 'SATC'
Sex and the City 2 was admittedly not Sarah Jessica Parker's brightest moment, but that doesn't mean she's about to shy away from breathing new life into the franchise somehow.
MTV News caught up with the fashionista in Cannes, where she didn't exactly dismiss the possibility of Sex returning to the big or small screens in the future -- nor did she confirm it.
However, she did specifically address the buzz surrounding a film adaptation of The Carrie Diaries, a book franchise that serves as a prequel to author Candice Bushnell's original Sex and the City novel.
"I think it always comes down to story and what is the story people want to tell," she said. "Obviously, I feel proprietary in the best possible way about that entire franchise as it were, but I think there are lots of talented storytellers and obviously lots of talented actors who might be a part of it. I think, like anything, you base your opinion on material and content, and I think that would be the only way for any of us to have an opinion."
She was much more cryptic though about the possibility of another Sex and the City project.
"I think there is perhaps one more small, important story to tell. ... Whether or not we choose to do that and when we choose to do that remains, obviously, the unknown, but it's nice to ponder."
And does SJP know what that Sex story is, pray tell? "I don't, but somebody else does."
