The beautiful 23-year-old daughter of Vogue editor Anna Wintour has left her low-level job at CollegeHumor.com and headed West to Los Angeles to work for "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy's production company.
Shaffer confirmed the move to us in a brief email Monday, but don't expect to see her styling outfits for Lea Michele.
An employee of the company tells us Shaffer "doesn't specifically work for 'Glee,'" and though Ryan Murphy Productions has yet to give her an official title, her main responsibility is overseeing research for the shows and projects under the company's umbrella.
According to the employee, Shaffer's now working on "Glee Live! 3D!," a concert film that will be created from footage of the hit Fox show's upcoming live concert-hall tour.
She's also working on a reality show that the production company is developing titled "Model Apartment," which will be a program that The Hollywood Reporter noted "will give viewers a window into the world of competitive modeling."
It's a project that could probably benefit from Shaffer's input. Her mother has been making ? and breaking ? the careers of models since she took the reins of Vogue in 1988.
Shaffer seemed to be gravitating toward a new-media version of her mother's career when, after graduating from Columbia University, she signed on to be the assistant of College Humor co-founder and CEO Ricky Van Veen in October 2009.
An insider tells us the laid-back looker "really seemed to enjoy" being part of "the tech community in New York City."
Shaffer, whose father is Wintour's ex-husband, child psychiatrist Dr. David Shaffer, even met her boyfriend, 25-year-old fellow College Humor writer and sketch actor Jake Hurwitz, while working for Van Veen.
Shaffer's relationship with Hurwitz seems to have survived the move West. A source close to the funnyman tells us Hurwitz also relocated to the West Coast "some time in April," and his Twitter account currently says that he "lives in Los Angeles."
They haven't completely given up on New York, though.
Hurwitz and Bee made the plane flight back to NYC to attend the Met Gala with Wintour on May 2.
