Film critic Roger Ebert came under fire yesterday after posting cruel remarks on Facebook, following the death of ?Jackass? star Ryan Dunn. Ebert wound up having his Facebook shut down after angering fans and friends of the late star.

Ryan Dunn and his passenger, production assistant on the ?Jackass? movie Zachary Hartwell, died early Monday morning in a car crash in West Goshen, Pennsylvania.

As news of Dunn?s tragic death began to circulate, Roger Ebert gave his opinion of the accident, writing, ?Friends don?t let Jackasses drink and drive?.

While Ebert?s comments may have been intended to stop drunk driving, the timing of his remarks just came off as cruel after Ryan?s fans and friends just learned of his tragic death.

Shortly after his initial comments, the movie critic added, ?He drank, he drove, 2 people died?. Ryan was pictured with his friends drinking hours before the crash, but police have not confirmed if alcohol was involved.

Ebert, 69, was slammed by fans and friends of Ryan Dunn?s over his insensitive remarks, resulting in his Facebook page being shut down.

But Ebert took to Twitter today, writing, ?Facebook has removed my page in response, apparently, to malicious complaints from one or two jerks?. Ebert added, ?Facebook! My page is harmless and an asset to you. Why did you remove it in response to anonymous jerks? Makes you look bad?.

Ryan Dunn?s close friend Bam Margera, tweeted about Ebert, saying, ?I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents?. Bam later added, ?Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f*cking mouth!?
