Prince Harry will have new insignia on his uniform when he escorts brother Prince William to his wedding later this month.

For the best man now has a new title ? Captain in the British Army. Harry, 26, received the honor Thursday, also qualifying as an Apache helicopter pilot the same day, the palace announced.

And there's some thinking that Harry's royal wedding outfit will be the gold brocaded state ceremonial uniform of the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals, which was the army regiment he originally joined when he left Sandhurst military academy.

Palace aides won't confirm his uniform ? or that of William ? until the April 29 wedding day, and say anything else at the moment is "speculation."

With his success at training on the high-tech Apache attack aircraft (which included a stint in the French Alps) Captain Harry Wales, as he is will now be known in the military, is ready for the next stage of his training.

That will prepare him to operate the aircraft and its weapons systems in-operational scenarios. One day, that could mean him heading back to the combat zones of Afghanistan, where he served in 2008.

According to the palace, Prince Harry will be based at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk and also spend some time training in the United States.
